Music/Cutscene Spotlight-One Night in Neo Kobe City-Snatcher
Not only is the music for this scene fantastic, but the cutscene itself is a beautiful example of the best 16-bit has to offer. Just because this game is a complete rip-off of Blade Runner does not mean it has nothing else to offer. Play it if you can!

Cutscene Spotlight-Angeal and Genesis Vs Sephiroth-Crisis Core
Say what you want about Final Fantasy VII, but Crisis Core was a fantastic offering as a prequel, and the best the Compilation series has to offer. Although this cutscene is probably just an excuse to show an awesome fight and beautiful graphics, I don't care, because the result is so incredible. Don't be like every other 13-year old Final Fantasy fan though; if you like the cutscenes, play the game!

Music Spotlight-Tribute to the Master (M. Bison Stage)-SSFIIHD
There's something you should know about me: I am a huge Street Fighter fan. I main the beautiful man that is Bison in every game in the series, and I play SSFIV daily (let me know if you want a match).
Unfortunately, Bison's theme has never been terribly good, which is unfair for such a good character. However, this remix, from the HD Remix version of Street Fighter II, stands out as being spectacular. I really hope you all enjoy.
Raul Julia would be proud.

Game Insights-Metroid Prime Trilogy
In today's casual market, Nintendo rarely takes the time to appeal to their long-time fans, giving us games like Animal Crossing and Metroid: Other M as a sort of lackluster peace offering. On occasion, however, Nintendo releases a game that reminds us why we still hang out with this neglecting mother.
In good ol' Nippon, Nintendo released Metroid Prime 1 and 2 under the "New Play Control" moniker. However, perhaps because Prime's development team is based in Texas, Nintendo decided to gift us westerners with this incredible compilation, featuring all 3 games for the price of 1. Take the perfect controls of Metroid Prime 3 and the perfect game that is Metroid Prime and what do you get? A reason to buy a Wii, that's what. Thank you Nintendo, we'll be staying in your house for a while longer yet.

Music Spotlight-400 A.D. (Yearning of the Wind)-Chrono Trigger
I apologize for posting two musican entries in a row, however I had a strong urge to share this song with everybody. The game itself is a classic, and that is largely due to the music it contains. Stepping out onto medieval plains for the first time would not be the same without this song. A masterpiece of a score by Yasunori Mitsuda.

Music Spotlight: The Man With The Machine Gun-FFVIII
Say what you will about the game itself, but this track, played during the Laguna battles of Final Fantasy VIII, only further proves Nobuo Uematsu's mastery as a video game composer. Pay close attention to the inspired bass line and inventive use of MIDI sound effects.
The Beginning of a Blog
Welcome, dear friends, to the beginning of my blog meant to showcase my superior taste in video games, as well as my wonderful writing. It is my goal to show insights for some of my favourite games, and in the process, to convince you of their worth. I hope this foray is a successful one, and any suggestions by more internet-savvy bloggers are always appreciated.
Sincerely,
-Gaius Baltar (>'_')>
